Environmental and Ethical Considerations Here at Dragon Mountain Skills we take our impact on the environment both personally and as a business very seriously. We have therefore outlined below the ways in which we are trying to reduce our carbon footprint and promote a positive impact on the environment - we also acknowledge that we are not perfect, but are doing the best we can in small ways to make sure that we can all enjoy our beautiful surroundings for years to come.
Transport - We encourage you to minimize the amount of vehicles you travel in within your group. - To encourage you to come to North Wales by train, we are happy to collect you from the train station in Bangor - We will use car sharing for our courses. - We both use bikes, buses and walk as much as possible for local personal transport.
Office - Our office is lit by low voltage, energy efficient lights, and is highly insulated with vast amounts of natural lighting from roof windows. - We try to minimize paper use within the office, and conduct most of our business via email and the internet - Our heating and water is powered by an ‘A’ rated boiler with a highly efficient heating system. - Our electricity is supplied by the Green Electricity company, which uses renewable sources of energy. - We recycle all paper, cans, bottles, ink cartridges and plastic. - We don’t produce brochures and do most of our business via email to cut down on paper waste.
Supporting local business - We buy all our outdoor equipment for business and personal use form local outdoor shops, such as V12 Outdoor. - We encourage clients to use local accommodation providers in the area and to source supplies from the local villages.
Conservation - We support local conservation efforts such as path building by the National Trust. - We aim to minimize impact on crags and local venues by only taking small groups and educating people on the impact from our activities. - We pick up other people's litter and encourage you to do the same when out in the mountains.
