Winter Skills Courses, Snowdonia, North Wales

Winter Skills Courses, Scotland & SnowdoniaFor our winter skills courses we use two main regions. The first is our home area, the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, and the second is the Fort William area of the Scottish Highlands. The Scottish winters can be fierce, and so our Scottish Winter Skills courses offer a further challenge to those who may have a fair amount of mountain walking or some basic winter walking experience. The Snowdonia area offers a slightly less demanding environment with shorter approaches to the mountains, and generally less extreme winter conditions.

Venturing into the mountains during the winter months requires sound navigational techniques combined with the ability to use crampons and ice axes safely. We run our courses with a flexible approach as the winter weather can be unpredictable, but will always ensure you get the most out of your winter skills course.

We have a no nonsense approach to running open courses - if you are booked on the course, it will be running.  We never cancel a course due to low numbers.  We also keep the ratios low, so you don’t need to worry about getting lost in a large group. For you, this means you get as much time as possible with the instructor, and as much out of your course as you want.
