Venturing onto the high summits in full winter conditions requires fitness, stamina, determination and essential skills to stay safe. However, the reward of standing on the summit as the sun is setting over a sea of white mountain tops makes winter mountaineering well worth the effort

Welsh Winter Weekend
Come to North Wales for a weekend’s tuition in winter walking skills. The course covers use of ice axe and crampons, equipment selection, winter navigation and ice axe self arrest.
Designed for those with some hillwalking experience, who want to hill walk confidently throughout the year, whatever the weather. Winter time offers great opportunities for developing navigation and mountain safety skills under more testing weather conditions and under the watchful eyes of our experienced instructors.

Cost: £140 per person
Group size: 4 per instructor

Winter Skills Long Weekend (Fort William, Scotland)
For more reliable snow conditions, come to Fort William for three days of intensive tuition in winter walking skills. The course covers use of ice axe and crampons, equipment selection, winter navigation and ice axe self arrest.
Designed for those with some hillwalking experience who want to hill walk confidently throughout the year, whatever the weather. Winter time offers great opportunities for developing navigation and mountain safety skills under more testing weather skills and under the watchful eyes of our experienced instructors.

Cost: £295 per person
Group size: 4 per instructor

Equipment for Winter
If its your first time attending a winter course then it can be a pricey undertaking with exhaustive equipment lists. We have taken this into account and invested in good quality equipment, and are proud to offer the following at no extra charge for you to use during your course:
- Winter boots
- Crampons
- Ice axes
- HelmetsV12 Outdoor, Llanberis
- Shovels
- Probes

In addition remember that our clients receive a 20% discount from V12 Outdoor in Llanberis.
